Updated Privacy Policy for CoinForensics

Last Updated: March 11, 2026

1. Introduction

CoinForensics (the “Platform”), operated by ComplyChain Solutions (“we,” “us,” or “our”), is committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users and their customers. As a provider of blockchain forensics and identity verification (KYC/KYB), we process sensitive information under strict regulatory frameworks. This policy outlines how we handle data in compliance with global standards including GDPR, CCPA, and Wyoming privacy laws.

2. Information We Collect

To provide our Intelligence Matrix services, we collect the following categories of data:

  • Identity Data: Full name, date of birth, nationality, and government-issued identification documents (Passports, Driver’s Licenses).
  • Biometric Data: Facial geometry and “liveness” data captured during the AI identity verification process to prevent deepfakes and identity fraud.
  • On-Chain Data: Public blockchain wallet addresses, transaction hashes, and associated metadata entered for forensic analysis.
  • Corporate Data (KYB): Company registration details, Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) information, and corporate structure documentation.
  • Technical Data: IP addresses, device signatures, and browser telemetry used for fraud prevention and multi-accounting detection.

3. Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data under the following legal bases:

  • Legal Obligation: To comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF), and Sanctions regulations (e.g., FINTRAC, OFAC, MiCA).
  • Legitimate Interest: To detect and prevent financial crime, fraud, and platform abuse.
  • Consent: For the processing of biometric data for identity verification, which is obtained explicitly at the point of capture.

4. Data Retention

In accordance with global AML standards, identity and transaction records are typically retained for a period of five (5) years after the termination of a business relationship or the completion of a forensic audit, unless local laws require a longer retention period. Biometric templates are deleted immediately after the verification purpose is fulfilled, unless otherwise required by law.

5. Third-Party Sharing & Transfers

We do not sell user data to third parties. Data may be shared with:

  • Regulatory & Law Enforcement: When required by valid legal process (subpoenas, warrants) or mandatory reporting obligations (SARs).
  • Verification Partners: Sub-processors used for document OCR and global sanctions database cross-referencing.
  • International Transfers: Data may be processed in the United States (Wyoming) and other jurisdictions with adequate data protection safeguards.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request the correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request the erasure of data (subject to AML retention overrides).
  • Withdraw consent for biometric processing.

7. Security

We employ institutional-grade encryption (AES-256) for data at rest and TLS 1.3 for data in transit. Our infrastructure is designed with “Privacy by Design” principles to ensure that forensic data is siloed and protected from unauthorized access.
